Submental
Vertex
The
submental vertex view allows visualization of the base of the
skull, phenoid sinuses, zygomatic prominences, the angulation
of the condylar heads relative to the cranial base, and facilitates
assessment of facial structure symmetry. Also referred to as the
"jughandle view". The SMV is the referencing view used to determine
corrected lateral and anterior/posterior tomographic views of
the TMJ.
