Waters
Skull View
The
Waters (37 degrees) or Modified Waters (23 degrees) projection
can be used to assess the maxillary, frontal and ethmoid sinuses
and the nasal cavity; allows visualization of the coronoid processes
of the mandible and condylar heads. As a P/A view at altered angulations,
Water's may be used to assess fluid levels within the sinuses,
and if the patient opens his or her mouth widely, the sphenoid
sinuses may also be imaged. Other structures that can be evaluated
are the zygomatic arch, the frontozygomatic suture, linea innominata
and the mandibular condyle.
